Every business has a beginning. Ours happened in a closet. It wasn’t exactly the kind of office you would feature in a design magazine, and there certainly wasn’t much room to spread out. But it was enough to get started, and it represented something much bigger than the space itself: the belief that there was an opportunity to build a CPA firm around relationships, practical advice, and helping business owners make better decisions.
A lot has changed since then. The closet office eventually became a real office. The firm grew, our clients grew, and the questions we were helping business owners answer became more complex. Over time, our role began to evolve as well. We were still handling the accounting, tax, and compliance work that clients depended on us for, but more and more of our conversations were about what came next.
Now, the office has evolved too. The remodel is finished, our refreshed brand is taking shape, and the space finally feels like a reflection of the firm we are building today. It is more intentional, more collaborative, and better suited for the kind of conversations we want to have with business owners.
But this next chapter isn’t really about new flooring, furniture, paint, or a refreshed logo. Those are simply the visible changes. What matters more is what they represent.
As our firm becomes increasingly advisory focused, we are being more intentional about helping business owners look forward rather than simply reporting on what has already happened. Tax returns, financial statements, payroll, and compliance are important, but they are only part of the picture. The real opportunity often comes from using that information to make better decisions before the next tax return is filed.
That means having conversations about tax planning before December turns into April. It means reviewing whether an entity structure still makes sense as a business grows. It means talking about cash flow before it becomes a problem, considering retirement and compensation strategies before year-end, and identifying opportunities or compliance gaps while there is still time to do something about them.
In other words, we want to spend more time helping business owners answer the question, “What should we do next?”
That shift is an important part of where our firm is going, but it doesn’t mean we are leaving behind what got us here. When you compare the original closet office to the finished space today, nearly everything looks different. The core values behind the firm, however, have not changed.
We still believe in doing what we say we are going to do. We believe clients deserve straightforward answers, even when those answers aren’t always the easiest ones. We believe relationships matter, and we believe business owners should be able to have meaningful conversations with their CPA throughout the year—not just when a deadline is approaching.
Most importantly, we still believe being a CPA should mean more than preparing forms and reporting history. Business owners make decisions every day that affect their taxes, cash flow, employees, personal finances, and long-term plans. Having a CPA involved before those decisions are made can be far more valuable than explaining the consequences afterward.
Building our own firm has reinforced that perspective. Like the business owners we work with, we have had to make decisions about growth, people, technology, investments, processes, and where we want the business to go next. Businesses rarely move from one stage to another because of one big decision. Usually, growth is the result of hundreds of smaller decisions made over time.
Looking back at where we started makes the finished remodel especially meaningful. The new office represents progress, but it also serves as a reminder of why the firm was built in the first place. We want to help business owners understand their numbers, anticipate what is coming, and make informed decisions with a clearer picture of the financial impact.
So, yes, the office looks different. The brand is evolving. The services we provide and the way we work with clients will continue to evolve as well. But the foundation underneath all of it remains the same.
We are proud of where we started, grateful for how far the firm has come, and excited about where we are going next. This isn’t about becoming a different firm. It is about becoming a better version of the firm we always intended to build.
Same firm. Next chapter.
Built for Business Owners. CPA Led. Strategy Focused.
